      Development and setting up of data warehouses that manage and process big data for financial application. I principally worked on system that: -process data from the front office systems (Murex, Kondor, etc.) of our financial Customers, in order to provide to the end users their Profit and Loss value through its main risk components; -process access datalog to all the bank's systems, producing reports suitable for monitoring Employers activity and, reporting undue access according to the legislation in force to protect customer's privacy; These applications have challenging stability and reliability requirements because they produce reports due by law and intended for the control agencies. At the same time, they must also guarantee excellent performance to manage the large amount of data processed every day. Main technologies I used: Oracle and MS SQL Server database, Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Oracle Warehouse Builder (OWB) or custom made ETL (using Bash Shell or Visual Basic), Reporting Tool: SAP Business Objects. I have developed new systems from scratch (starting from the definition of the data model) and I have migrated existing systems from DB MS SQL on Windows platform and Visual Basic applications to Oracle DB on Linux server and bash shells. I have been also involved into increasing performances and functionality on existing system. I also deal with the development of summary reports for the final user, defining the metadata layers and taking care of the final reporting. Continuous dialog with the end user of the systems is mandatory to fulfill customer needs. My work requires strong problem solving and analysis skills. Autonomy and speed in facing different issues emerging day by day are key to guarantee customer satisfaction. I efficiently work in teams and in development of complex projects.       TITLE: Study of self-assembled nanostructures (quantum dots) on GaAs (111)A surfaces. Main activities: Engineering of a growth technique for fabrication of optically-active nanostructures. My target was to get the control of dimension, shape and density by growth parameters variation. I performed sample growth, characterization via atomic force microscopy (AFM) and photoluminescence and data analysis. I got experience in semiconductor thin film deposition (MBE), nanostructure design and growth, vacuum techniques, spectroscopy (particularly photoluminescence) and AFM.
