Our program goals were to improve retention and GPA of our students through intensive one-on-one support and frequent contact. Our students showed consistently higher GPAs and higher retention levels compared to similar students who were not enrolled in our program. I worked to develop student skills in organization, time management, and studying. I referred students to other on-campus resources as necessary. I acted as a life coach to students, discussing any issues students want to discuss that may impact their class performance and experience at our university, including housing, financial aid, work, internships, choice of major, course selection, mental and physical health, interactions with family and friends, etc. I performed outreach in the spring to prospective students and their families.
