Bio
Ian Linkletter
Andrea is a gifted communicator and teacher! During her two Co-op terms with our team, she worked to support faculty with their use of technology. This required the ability to learn quickly, solve challenging problems, and communicate effectively. She also led workshops, demonstrating how technology could be used to enhance teaching and learning. Instructor feedback of her work was positive without exception. Andrea provided support in many other ways. She updated the ETS blog and managed the office's social media presence, using her experience as a journalist to explore topics related to the field of educational technology. She helped plan events, including the UBC Centennial Maker Faire, TED2016 Live Streams at ETS, Digital Technology Series, Orientation to Learning Technologies, and Tech in Transit. Andrea developed her writing, photography, graphic design, and Wordpress skills to promote and document these events. The most significant work Andrea did with us still lives on. She played an instrumental role in the development of a website, which included a Supported Learning Technologies section. Andrea developed 21 quicksheets – one double-sided page for each of our most frequently supported technologies. Education faculty benefit from these resources every day. If you have the opportunity to work with Andrea, take it. She is a talented professional with the leadership and collaborative skills to unlock the full potential of any team.
