While there are specialist HR roles, most positions in a school setting require generalist HR professionals that really understand the role that education has in shaping the next generation. This role was involved in a broad spectrum of activities, with a requirement to understand the teaching environment and the other integral functions that enable a school to operate successfully. This involved selling the school brand to talented prospective employees and being adept at all-round good people practices, forward thinking proposal generation and management coaching to both support & enhance the performance and motivation of staff to enable positive student experiences. It worked closely with the Executive Leadership Team, focusing on the bigger picture and participating in long-range planning to link student growth experiences and outcomes with opportunities to increase staff engagement.
