Online business editor
-
Mar 2011 - Aug 2011
I helped manage what was online at Jacksonville.com/business. That means helping reporters with blogging, tracking numbers, editing stories for the web, making sure headlines were web-friendly, updating the "Money" section with press releases and information about local businesses, and sometimes, writing features and briefs.

Reporter, photographer, editor, etc.
-
Aug 2010 - Aug 2011
I wrote at least two stories a week, along with several other smaller features, such as calendars and briefs packages, for this weekly community paper, which is now a section in the Florida Times-Union. I also took all my own pictures, including the weekly Mystery Photo. In October 2010, the editor of the paper left, and I was left to juggle the responsibilities of the Sun from the St. Augustine Record with editors at the Times-Union who could handle it that week. In April 2011, the editor who took over permanently took a buyout, and I was left fully in charge of the Sun -- that means all reporting, photography, editing and budgeting. After working six-day weeks for nearly three months, I returned to being just a reporter for the Sun. Show less
