I train all new hires as well as all the continuing education needs of the staff. I am a Cerified CPR and First aid instuctor with the American Red Cross (As of November 2016), Certified Mental Health Instructor with Mental Health Anerica (as of October 2016), Mandatory Reporter for dependent adult and child in the state of Iowa Instructor. I am current on compliance, HIPAA, and OSHA regulations and training requirements in ICF/ID and HCBS Health care facilities. Within 6 months of accepting the position we have maintained all staff to be current on all training and has dropped training costs per person by around 1,000 dollars per new hire. I strive to give information in an interactive format that gives an employee skills they can walk away from training and use in thier everyday work area. I have extensive knowledge with Microsoft Office Programs and other online programs such as ChartMeds and Edoc. As a Direct Support Professional, the daily skill set is extensive. I am a advocate for the clients, as well as a caregiver, friend and voice in some cases. I multitask helping six clients start their day from helping them make the decision to shower, dress, and eat. I persuade them to make decisions for themselves as well as delegate daily tasks to them so they learn how to care for themselves. I help pass medications according to doctors orders and work with other staff to be efficient as possible.
