Ali Baghizadeh
On Friday I did my first case competition (The Quantum Case 2021) in a joint program of INSEAD-GCC ETH, given nearly 30 hours to understand very high tech problem and recommend a strategy to client to enter the market. It was my second practical, real life consulting challenge, and I realized how much my practice with Andre in early 2021 elevated my business acumen, both attacking the problem, analyzing the situation, knowing some business concepts for a phd in physics, and summarizing the results. Talking to my friends in science fields who already cracked cases, no one denies the usefulness of what we learn in such practices, even if we decide to take another career path than consulting. I wish Andre a lot of success and hope one day he and his peers will be invited to universities to teach scientists and engineers how to make strategic decisions for managing very expensive projects in universities and teach them the steps in solving business cases which are not far different from many scientific projects.
