Together with the Smart Hub Department, I am part of a team whose main role is to decrease the energy consumption of our clients. We come up with new ideas and methodologies, we implement them and we calculate the resultant savings. In order to accurately report these energy savings to our clients, we monitor closely the data collected and apply a meticulous procedure specific to each project. On a daily basis I use Power BI (as a means of visualizing and presenting data), MS Excel and Visual Basic (to create baselines, run pre-determined algorithms, etc), Python (to quickly analyse millions of rows of data, and as a way to automate certain periodical tasks) and SQL (with which I can access the data stored in the company's most recent database, BILL).
