Technical Manager
-
Mar 2009 - Nov 2010
After 2 years as an IT Administrator for a single site, I was promoted to a Technical Manager for Leftlick. My portfolio included assisting a number of our IT Managers and Administrators that were deployed at our clients with various systems and technologies, as well as supporting our roaming technicians who supported a number of smaller clients.I was exposed to a lot more technology, more more importantly I started working with and managing more people which allowed me to improve my communication skills across the board.Apart from facilitating with technical problems, I started building proposals for clients based on solution requirements they specified. Working with a fantastic team, we started improving a number of our customized solutions such as firewalling technlogies, Email redundancy, robust back and storage solutions and improved connectivity with failover.I was also part of a large scale DR solutions specification and implimentation for a fashion retailer in South Africa.

Technical Advisor
-
Feb 2003 - Jul 2003
I started in the call center and shortly after got promoted to a technical advisor. Here I advised on special build requests from clients that was outside the scope of the standard factory built PC. I had to lease with the clients, technical and managers in order to ensure the specification was done accordingly to the clients requirement. This included checking compatibility issues between hardware and software and ensuring sufficient resource allocations. Often these clients would order up to 200 PC's and I was responsible for ensuring the build will be compatible on all levels.
