I taught adults and children private piano lessons. We focused on classical piano technique and theory by playing songs that my students enjoyed. I also scheduled lessons by communicating with students and their parents. I taught adults and children private piano lessons. My responsibilities range from picking up performers from the airport, helping performers feel comfortable and in-the-know, ticketing, and being friendly and informative to customers and patrons. I work events ranging from competitions to performances. This position is helping me to learn about music administration and all that goes into it. I got to communicate with prospective students by giving them and their families tours of the music school, speaking at Q&A sessions, working at the school's audition weekends, and calling students who were accepted into CU's music program. I learned great communication skills, especially in the context of public speaking and phone calls. I got to share my gift of music by teaching a small piano class of elementary students. I led this class with one other CU music students. Our goals were to teach basic piano skills and music theory in a fun, productive way. We helped students to feel accomplished through learning short, solo, and group piano pieces that they could share with their friends and families.
