Supported by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Language and Indes, the project involved field work encompassing research and documentation of traditional settlements, dwellings and living heritage of a nomadic pastoral tribe, the Gujjars, in Surankote, in Jammu's Poonch Region followed by 3 weeks of post production in School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, to compile the analysis in a published book. -Interviewing locals, study of the socio-cultural aspects of the built environment, construction methodologies, materials used, variations in construction and architectural styles - Ethnographic study On-Site while living and travelling with the community Show less
