After successfully concluding my management trainee program hosted by CP Group Thailand, I was internally transferred to another Indian subsidiary of CP Group – CP Wholesale India Pvt. Ltd. (CPWI), which owns and operates a membership-based B2B retail business brand ‘LOTS Wholesale Solutions’ in Delhi NCR. Here, I commenced my tenure from 01 March 2019 to 30 November 2020. Now that I was a part of the company; having thoroughly enjoyed my limited exposure to the domain of marketing during my management training – I specially requested the HR team to kindly place me in the marketing team at CPWI. As part of the marketing team, I primarily gained expertise in brand marketing – ideation and execution and thus effectuated several below-the-line (BTL) and above-the-line (ATL) campaigns. One such BTL campaign even yielded direct incremental sales to the tune of INR 1.9 million. Later on, with the onset of the COVID lockdown, I was given additional responsibilities in producing creative multimedia content for the company’s social media. Assuming this responsibility, I conceptualized and produced numerous customer engagement-focused videos for the company’s LinkedIn page. Having excelled at every given responsibility at work, during the latter part of my time at CPWI, I was nominated by the Managing Director and V.P. - Human Resources, to be part of multiple cross-functional teams tasked to study and effectuate the implementation of various critical projects at the company level. During the final semester of my Master of Public Policy program in 2018, I secured my first job with a subsidiary company of Charoen Pokphand Group, Thailand (CP Group) – CP Avant Pvt. Ltd, where I was employed from 02 July 2018 till 28 February 2019. CP Avant Pvt. Ltd. sponsored my eight-month-long management trainee program known as the ‘Future Leaders Development Program’ (FLP), hosted by the parent company – CP Group, in Bangkok, Thailand. As a fresh graduate with no prior work experience or much knowledge about the various business functions, this international management trainee program which was attended by company-sponsored 300+ employees from over 16 nationalities, provided me with the ideal opportunity to learn and experience various fundamental functions of a business such as – operations and marketing. As part of my management training, I was rotated among the parent company’s business units, and every fortnightly, as part of teams we formally presented our assigned project reports to the group’s founders and CXO level executives. In my first rotation, I was placed in a quick-service restaurant chain – ‘Chester’s’ where I learned and gained first-hand experience in essential front-end and back-end roles at the operations level of a fast-food restaurant chain, alongside planning and executing various store-level marketing activities and events. At my second business unit – Siam Makro, the country’s leading B2B cash and carry chain, I had the opportunity to train with and experience on-ground operations of a large retail store chain.
