Virgo valves and controls limited is an Indian Multinational which deals with valve manufacturing, commissioning and automation for the the oil and gas and process industries. I was appointed to the International Marketing department with the project engineering division. The main job responsibilities included bid preparation and then the execution of the project on procurement. During my tenure I got to work on the SOGT project which was associated with Petronas Carigalli. The order was worth more than ten million euros. It was not an easy task in terms of preparing the bid documents and other details of the project. I was still a fresher and it was a major task in terms of talking to the customer and regularly answering all the technical queries setup by the customer. We finally procured the project but, the bidding process lasted nearly a year. For the procurement of the project I was recognized by the higher management for taking on additional responsibilities in the short span of one year that I was there. Sales: Generating enquiry through strong relationship with client / consultant Comprehending customer’s specifications and requirements both technically and commercially. Preparing techno-commercial offers, striking a balance between customer requirements and product specifications, Negotiation, Closing orders Collecting quotes, negotiating and closing orders from specific vendors Replying of technical and commercial queries during negotiation stage Handle International Customers / Agents Coordinating with various departments for engineering details & costing Executing orders and coordinating with factory in order to ensure time delivery Daily activity report, weekly report on status of proposal and new enquiries to management Ensure adherence to ISO procedure in the sales and marketing department Show less
