As the Executive Director of NAIOP I support the leadership of the organization and create membership value by leading efforts in: advocacy, outreach, education, networking and business opportunities for the commercial real estate industry. NAIOP Edmonton is the definitive voice of commercial development in Alberta's Capital Region. We connect our members so that they develop new business relationships; we offer educational opportunities and a program of events that ensures our industry is on the cutting edge; and we influence the course of our business with positive interactions with various levels of government and the community. Provide strategic support for seven standing committees, and various sub-committees, through issues identification, relationship management, and coordinating engagement and advocacy. Write policy briefs, research papers, letters, and speeches to Council on a variety of issues in the Edmonton Region. Lead UDI staff point of contact for wetlands-related policy and research; Growth Market Intelligence Data; Energy Transition Strategy; and U of A research initiatives and relations. Co-Chair of Building Edmonton Together Symposium (a venue for industry, Council and senior city staff to discuss the year’s successes, and opportunities for further engagement). Coordinate Developer Funded Early Transit system, lot servicing forecasting, and New Horizons (a group of young development industry professionals now hosting about a dozen industry events a year). I've participated in some capacity in most development-related policy proposed by The City of Edmonton in the past several years. Previously, I re-instituted and wrote the UDI newsletter (read monthly by over 900 members). Show less
