Collaborating with professors in the Department of Environmental Sciences, I collected and analyzed data on climate change and rural poverty in Central America. My research primarily focused on the migration of tropical diseases and its effects on the coffee market in Nicaragua. I examined how media coverage shaped policy responses to Nicaragua's ongoing coffee crisis. I presented these findings at the American Association of Geographers' Annual Conference in New Orleans.
