  During my time as a member of Biotech Partners, I acquired professional lab skills through industry experience as well as through the Biotech Partners two year biotech curriculum. As a BP Intern, I worked in the Department of Biological Development at Bayer Pharmaceuticals. During my time there, I participated in several hands-on protein purification experiments and learned extensively about process characterization/development. Additionally, I interned for 6 months in Wilson lab at the Innovative Genomics Institute. During my time there, I worked as a member of the protein purification team, where my primary duties consisted of conducting and monitoring the expression & purification of genome-editing enzymes such as CRISPR-Cas9. Aside from my role as an intern, I've volunteered in multiple events supporting the rise of aspiring young scientists. Some of which included the annual Biotech Partners Gala and the BRAVO Poster Exhibition & Celebration. I also participated as a competitor in the 2016 BRAVO event, where I earned the award for “Best Presentation”. The leaders of Biotech Partners have helped me and many other students to discover our personal value, as well as our strong potential to become future scientists.
