UI Programmer at Cloud Imperium Games working on Star Citizen. Primarily responsible for designing and implementing the backend for a variety of diegetic UI elements for starships, encompassing almost all 2D UI elements in ships and some 3D as well. Programmed a number of other feature for the ships, including implementing the manned and remote turret systems in their entirety. I also integrated our newly developed internal database tool with the ship screens backend, allowing designers and artists to create, remove, and adjust UI components in real time while running the game. Additionally, off-the-clock I designed from start to finish the math and metrics for a realistic and balanced armor system, as well as new ammunition types to play off of it, based on existing weapon specifications and the designers notes on how they felt it should work and provided spreadsheets, documentation, and python tools with which to test the system in theoretical situations with varying defenders and attackers. Worked in CryEngine writing primarily in C++ with some Python scripting and XML work. Show less
