  • Supports Production and Product industrialization – Carbon Fiber Precursor and Artificial hair being the last achievements. • Develops New Products – the new polymer and Carbon Fiber precursor currently supplied to the group, as well as the fiber for artificial Hair were the most recent achievements of my R&D team.• Ensures Pilot Lines coordination, leads a team of 16 persons with R&D activity 24h/day. – this was the most important strategic tool for the company competitiveness since its start-up in 1989.• Ensures Project funding – most of the activities of this R&D group were externally funded by EU funding programs (H2020, PT2020, as examples), as most of the company R&D work is considered strategic for Europe.• As Head of Acrylic Fibers Group of products - manages & defines the products strategy in accordance with the guidelines of BU Composites -Fibers & Materials (CFM). Prepares & updates of Product Group Roadmap for next 5 years.• As Member of Management Team – participates in the company management decision & strategic moments. Examples of those are the definition of workers schedule & promotion policy, product portfolio management, plant area selling, acquisition & partnership decisions.The current position is now globally integrated in the SGL CFM Business Unit in a matrix organization. Promotes and manages critical & determining R&D partnerships with external companies and Laboratories, such as the world reference on Carbon Fiber R&D – Oak Ridge National Laboratory in USA.Directly reports to the Board Member responsible for Sales and R&D.

  • Responsible for several Plant Revamping projects – those allowed the growth of plant capacity from 30 to 55 kton/y.• Continuous Optimization and Operation Technical Support, • Developed the majority of FISIPE´s current & more successful products such as: artificial fur line, dyed & pigmented fibers.• Responsible for the basic engineering and start-up of different equipment & processes in several plant areas. Responsible for Pilot lines design and start-up as well as coordination of pilot line activities and team. Provided technical support to Safety & Raw materials acquisition.Reporting to the Technical Director.
