The Associates of Saint John Bosco (ASJB) is a non-profit organization aimed at helping rising college freshman stay strong in their Catholic faith as they go off to college. After attending their events as a rising college freshman and serving as a volunteer throughout college, I became the Technology Associate for the college division. The Daughters of Isabella is a service group within the Catholic Campus Ministry at Virginia Tech. Within this organization I served as the Vice Regent (or Vice President) for a year prior to serving as Regent. Currently, I serve the organization as the "Past Regent" and the Outreach Coordinator. In this new position, I am responsible for disseminating and advertising information both within and outside of the organization. Bible Study Leader

The Newman Catholic Campus Ministry at Virginia Tech was formed to encourage and support students as they grow in their faith while attending college. As a Bible Study leader, I am responsible for leading a small group of women once a week. This involves preparation before each meeting, facilitating discussion during each meeting, and spending time with the women in the study throughout the week. Summer Intern

Working as an intern, I spent the summer shadowing and assisting the project team during the construction and renovation of the Virginia Hall Dormitory at the University of Mary Washington (working towards LEED Silver at minimum). After growing general knowledge of the construction industry during a previous internship experience, I was able to shift my focus to developing specific skills. In this experience, I further developed skills involving the processing of submittals, RFI management, and how to remain flexible in a team environment. In addition to these focuses, my primary goal was to learn and practice LEED management to align with my overall aspirations of growing sustainability in construction. Show less

Orion (formerly known as CurVinci) is a Living Learning Community on the Virginia Tech campus designed to foster community among students in various scientific disciplines. As an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for the "Successful Starts in Science" class, I was able to manage and guide 14 first-year students as they navigated their first year of college. This being my first practical exposure to the construction industry, I was able to assist the team while absorbing the norms of the industry. I gained a greater understanding of daily responsibilities from a project engineer, superintendent, project manager, project accountant, owner, and architect point of view. In this role I developed skills such as relationship building, effective communication, and customer service.
