I began here as a toxicology technician, then transitioned to administration and study management, and finally histology technician. My work required ensuring effective communication with many departments and collaborating with investigators and sponsors to carry out pre-clinical research with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies to assist in their development of new medications. This naturally included becoming familiar and skilled with preparing laboratory equipment and reagents for histology techniques on animals tissue, in a clinical research organization (CRO) atmosphere. Beyond those tasks, I also branched out further, developing my leadership skills through guiding a mid-sized team to ensure forward progress. My work showed a dedication to quality and efficiency, which earned me a lead technician role in two study cases. For this contract position, I focused on achieving my goal - namely, to highlight biodiversity found on the grounds of this location. Through research and observation, I compiled information including scientific facts and environmental characteristics, then designed informative panels for installation along pathways. This aided in increasing awareness as well as giving the residents something educational and interesting for their enjoyment, while also advising them on what to do or not do with the wildlife. In addition, I coordinated with graphic designers on the designs to oversee the look of the panels for installation. Prior to installation, I contacted agencies to collect bids, then present them to the client to decide on which fit the project's needs and budget.
