As Junior Advisor at I.G. Advisors, I supported individuals, charities, social enterprises, companies, philanthropists and foundations to maximise their social impact, and grow or diversify their income or giving. My role involved carrying out research and providing analysis, strategy development and creative workshops/training.With a range of clients, from grassroots charities to UNICEF and the Gates Foundation, I.G. advises on both sides of the philanthropy-fundraising equation – advising donors on how to maximise impact with their resources, and advising charities on how to develop dynamic major gift fundraising strategies that support their ambitions.

My role ranged from leading youth workshops, mentoring unaccompanied minors and refugees, budgeting and conducting risk assessments for community engagement activities to writing and editing grant applications and donor reports.

Research and Communications Officer
-
Aug 2016 - Feb 2017
During this internship, I assisted in the organisation and running of the many AOS events and attended meetings with AOS partners, Corporate Members and Diplomats. The role required the monitoring of current affairs of relevance to the charity and its programmes in order to conduct relevant and in-depth interviews with diplomats and guest speakers which were video recorded for archiving. This research, combined with primary research collected in Oman, contributed to a report I produced "The Role of Sustainable Development and Renewable Energy in Contemporary Oman."
