I worked with Amy in her capacity as a Medical Interpreter while I worked as a clinician on an Inpatient Psychiatry Unit. Amy was always prompt, friendly, and completely professional in her work. Clients felt comfortable with Amy even as we were discussing very sensitive topics. Amy's interpretation skill was above and beyond that of many interpreters with whom I have worked, in that she was able to capture nuances, and subtle changes in rhythm and tone of voice while also clearly and accurately translating the words. These qualities were very important to me on many occasions as I was trying to communicate my understanding and sensitivity to a client's situation by softening my tone of voice or pausing slightly between words. I always appreciated Amy's expertise, and miss having her as a member of the interpretation staff at the hospital. I am certain that she will bring dedication, sensitivity, and a high level of attention to quality and detail to any position that she has in the future.

Amy is a skilled and dedicated ESL teacher who employed many innovative and creative techniques in her classes which were made up of a variety of students from many different countries. She is also a talented and dedicated organizer for social justice. Finally, she is one of the best Spanish-English and Portuguese-English interpreters I know

When I learned there weren't courses on children with disabilities as I wanted, I developed an independent study course and created an annotated bibliography, entitled "Not just coping, but thriving: parenting stress among families of children with disabilities." I've been volunteering with WILD for years. My work has included consecutive and simultaneous interpreting in Spanish and Portuguese; leading workshops on Public Speaking in multiple languages; co-MC'ing; and offering myself for whatever little things need doing, from behind-the-scenes to out-there-with-a-microphone stuff. There is nothing too big or too small I won't do for WILD! I've been volunteering with WILD for years.
