Before the Covid-19 Pandemic rocked the world and shut down our industry, I worked with multiple managers to ensure that outside event planning managers preparing for conferences had the best experience possible at Gaylord Opryland. I set up planning meetings by organizing sleeping and meeting room reservations, transportation to and from the airport, room setup with food and beverage, amenities, and itineraries. Before groups would arrive for a conference, I would input dates, times, and room setup into CI for all general session, breakouts, and office space. As the conference approached, I made sure all internal documents were distributed throughout the hotel to appropriate managers, coordinate transportation for the attendees, and arrange amenities for event planning managers. I sat in with my managers and welcomed the meeting planners and conference CEO's during Pre-Conference Meetings. I met with meeting planners, as needed, during conference and made any necessary adjustments, while preparing for Post-Conference meetings. When the pandemic hit, and the majority of staff was laid off including myself, I began virtually learning and training for the CMP. With over 26 hours and an additional 15 hour Hospitality & Tourism Management Certificate from Florida Atlantic University, I continued my knowledge of Event Management.
