Feb 2007 - Feb 2010
I completed my Graduate Nursing program at Colac Area Health and on successfully completing the 12 month program went on to secure a full time position as a Registered Nurse in Acute Care Services. During my time at CAH I also completed a 12 month rotation through 4 different departments in the hospital - Emergency, Theatre, Community Nursing Services and Residential Aged Care. I spent 3 months in each area and completed a number of different competencies during this time including Basic and Advanced Life Support training, IV Cannulation and a one day course in Post Operative care of surgical patients. I thoroughly enjoyed my time working at CAH and developed a strong knowledge and skill base which provided me with the confidence and experience to move interstate and work in a number of wards and hospitals across Brisbane.
