Amy Dehn was probably the best writer I've come to know in my role as an instructor of journalism and media-writing. She had an uncommon easiness about her style: concise, clear, understandable, eminently readable. You got the feeling you were reading work by someone in a far more advanced position. She stood out among the others -- in this case not only her peers in the class she took from me, but among all the students I've since had in my various writing courses. I can think of only one other student -- a young lady who's been at the helm of the campus newspaper, as editor -- who might rival Ms. Dehn's talents with the written word. That puts Amy Dehn in a very special category indeed.
