I was appointed as Area Director, with the principle focus of leading the Northern region for the charity, with accountability for ensuring all 68 branches were compliant to Charity legislation, licensing law and rules, health & safety and regulations of the Association. Reporting to the Director of Membership, I led a team of 15 direct reports with the greater contingent consisting of 13,000 members, 300 volunteers, 12 Charity Trustees, 4 RAF stations and 50 Liaison Officers of varying rank. Furthermore I had oversight of £500k operating budget, auditing of the 68 branch accounts and preparation of annual reports for internal and external agencies Notable Accomplishments: • I successfully increased the Northern region membership by 44.5% over three years • I created and implemented Veteran’s drop-in centre initially on one High Street, subsequently this has been adopted by HQ and a further four centres are planned for the UK • I created additional revenue source with the development of conference rooms available to rent, in the centres • I led the review of business processes and within the first 12 months, delivered a 20% reduction in operational costs • I delivered the often complex and time consuming audit of 28 clubs with further clubs scheduled Show less
