Successfully rehabilitated over 50 common and grey seal pups as leader of seal unit. Implemented several SOP’s in conjunction of Biosecurity and treatment plans. Wrote Reptile, Otter and Seal Standard Operating Procedures for the company. Trained several members of staff in multiple taxa husbandry, nutrition and enclosure maintenance. Aided in restructure and delivery of education programming following Key Stage guidelines for NI. Founder of the annual Seal Rescue Conference. Integral to restructure of general daily maintenance. Assisted in rearing Asian Short Clawed Otter. Positive reinforcement operant conditioning training of several reptile species. Present during initial start-up of project I aided in creating guidelines in which the department functions. Successfully introduced a medical record system for 10 King Penguins and 10 Gentoo Penguins. Life Support System specialist for the department implementing key maintenance strategies and upkeep, including full staff training. Present for press launch of project in January 2012 including several appointments with media outlets. Key member of team who created Professor Penguin Programme, a government endorsed education programme for children from primary to secondary school. Present for initial animal training and continued training for guest interaction programmes. Scheduled work rota for all employees within the department. Public speaking several times daily including ‘March of the Penguins’ for guest numbers 400+. Provide first aid care to animal injuries with correct pharmaceutical prescription.
