From June 2021 to February 2022 I have worked front of house, developing my social and interactive skills with face to face customers from zero hospitality experience. Whilst working from home for The Student Loans Company previous, I soon realised that one of my strongest skills is working face to face with customers and building a relationship through in person communication. During lockdown I quickly discovered that I had a strong passion for photography and capturing memories that can be relived through images that will last a lifetime. Within just shy of 8 Months into my front of house job, it was presented throughout the business that they were calling out for any photographers to show their work. We were set the task of photographing a room at the hotel we are situated in, including the bathroom. It was then that the Digital Marketing Co-ordinator at the time asked me to join him at one of the recently purchased hotels to help photograph the hotel ready for the new website. Since then I have visited 7 hotels to help update/ create new websites in the space of 5 Months alongside working front of house whilst I am not away for photography. I have had training on websites and graphics design also in preparation for further development of marketing and a future career path. I love where my career is taking me and I hope my training and experiences continue to grow to strengthen my work as there is always space for improvement in quality and like they say, everyday is a school day, and I’m eager to learn. I have adapted to multiple workflows including UK student and Migrant worker applications. For the past year I have been working from home - but due to my ability to quickly adapt to situations, the process of this move had minimal impact on my role as I was able to readily complete all my tasks within my home environment.
