  I helped with data collection and analysis for on going clinical trails which the R&D department assisted in. I particularly was interested in the ASCOT trial which looked into cell based therapies for repairing damage joint cartilage of the knee. I was able to observe the different aspects of the trial, from patient recruitment, surgery, cell therapy preparation and subsequent data analysis to determine the outcome for the patient. This work allowed me to appreciate the dynamics between different roles in a clinical trial team. By handling large data sets I developed my analytical skills and providing me with a chance to work independently in a professional environment.
