The ArtiFactory is a project of Arts Iowa City focused on creating a new arts center with the mission to provide opportunities for collaboration and community through education, practice, and exhibitions in fine arts and crafts. The ArtiFactory is a project of Arts Iowa City. My role with the ArtiFactory was to assist in long term visioning and strategies. I was asked and briefly served as Executive Director and chose to step down when it was determined that the funding strategy needed more time to be developed without the burden of a paid employee. I continue to consult occasionally with Arts Iowa City. Show less

Before BARN became BARN, it was a dream. I'm very proud of the role I played by being one of the original dreamers. Just a few people started talking about how a multidisciplinary place for makers could provide a community for many and help create a sense of place. We worked from the grass roots up to determine the level of buy-in from different groups. Over just a couple of years, a board was formed, the idea gained traction, and a lot of heavy lifting by a lot of talented people took place. Now BARN houses many studio groups and has become integral to the fabric of Bainbridge Island. It's come a long way from that cup of coffee with friends birthing a shared dream. Show less
