To whom it may concern: I am writing this letter to recommend Amy Hover to you. Amy was my student in the Secondary Education Program at Caldwell College. I have known Amy for a year and she strikes me as a very forward- thinking student. In classes, Amy is always an active participant, not afraid to voice her opinion or thoughts. Amy loves to learn and is always looking out for new trends and ideas in education. She embraces technology and is willing to share what she knows about newest technology tools in a classroom. She is very comfortable with Smartboard and trained the entire class on the use of this hard- and soft-ware last semester in one of the courses I teach. Amy is a good friend. I observe her interactions with her classmates and I see that Amy is always willing to give a hand to anyone who needs additional coaching or clarification on a subject. At the same time, she is not giving the answers out, she is working with her classmates on working the answers out while scaffolding them towards understanding. I think Amy is a good mathematics teacher. I have observed her demonstrating her skills teaching mini-lessons in our classroom, and during those mini-lessons, she is always positive, looking out for misconceptions in student thinking and working with the class to make sure that everyone not only understands the concepts, but also enjoys working with them. Her assignments are creative and she is careful to consider different learning styles, interests and readiness. I think Amy Hover will be a great asset to any principal who decided to hire her. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me directly at echernobilsky@caldwell.edu or via LinkedIn. Regards, Ellina Chernobilsky

Jan 2013 - May 2013
During student teaching I was able to incorporate strategies and techniques taught at Caldwell college in a classroom setting. I taught a wide range of classes such as Integrated Algebra Part I, Math Review and Algebra II. I integrated technology into my lessons via the SmartBoard in order to engage students and promote their understanding.
