My PhD project investigated the anti-apoptotic effects of the cutaneous Human Papillomavirus oncogenic E6 protein through targeting of the cellular pro-apoptotic protein BAK for ubiquitin-mediated degradation. I have presented my findings in presentations (poster and oral) at international scientific meetings. I also have experience in scientific writing (50, 000 word thesis, scientific abstracts and two first author papers). I am familiar with a variety of laboratory techniques including mRNA knockdown (TALENS, shRNA and siRNA), immunofluorescent staining, FACS, western blotting, small scale protein purification, molecular biology (DNA purification, cloning and mutation), cell culture and immunoprecipitation.
