MDIS are a group that specialise in the supply of home warranties for the building trade. They are one of the largest insurers in the structural warranties space. I began my career at MD Insurance as a Receptionist. This role involved taking and diverting incoming calls, general office work, managing post and updating spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel. After a year as a receptionist, I was asked to be a Assistant PA for the Technical Claims department and happily accepted the promotion. This role involved copy and audio typing structural reports for the surveyors in the team, arranging site visits and appointments, taking messages and dealing with incoming queries from homeowners regarding their inspections. After 18 months as an Assistant PA an opening arose for the Senior Claims Administrator, which was a big step up. This was a very satisfying and demanding position that I enjoyed immensely. I was required to speak to claimants to assess the nature of their claim and offer advice on whether they were eligible. I managed a large claim of over 100 claimants for one site, which involved site visits, minute taking, one on one discussions with surveyors and solicitors. Show less
