When the opportunity arose for me to undertake the program director position at the Jewish Federation, I jumped at the chance to expand my professional horizons and reconnect with my Jewish community. During my year at Federation, I established several new programs that have endured since my departure, Federation's annual Israel Fest event experienced record attendance and media coverage under my direction and I brought a healthy dose of arts and culture to all aspects of Federation programming. Kept from my dream of becoming a professional classical cellist, I chose to join the Gulf Coast Symphony, Lee County's community orchestra, as the Director of Marketing. In five years, this organization made dramatic gains in ticket sales and community recognition. New advertising design and development of relationships with many media outlets allowed the Gulf Coast Symphony to increase its budget, improve concert locations and expand performances.
