I am the Animal Welfare Compliance Officer. My duties include assisting the other Animal Care areas with ordering, daily husbandry, any animal welfare concerns and operational needs. As the Welfare Compliance Officer I am responsible for monitoring the animal areas to keep us in compliance with all regulatory governing bodies. I work directly with our maintenance team to stay ahead of any potential violations. We operate with the mentality of Excellence Beyond Compliance. I work with the USDA on all inspections, correct any noted concerns and keep the park in full compliance to the best of my abilities. I also manage our Education Department which includes Explorer Guides. The Education dept. is responsible for booking, organizing and instructing our Educational programs. Our programs include Dolphin Discovery, Trainer for a Day, Wildlife Discovery and Wildlife Field trips for schools. The duties of the Explorer Guides is to maintain safe animal exhibits while interacting and educating our guests.
