As a student shop technician for the College of Architecture and Environmental Design at Cal Poly, I assist students with woodshop, metal shop, and fabrication tools. I lead safety training sessions for all tools, including table saw, planer, and band saws. Additionally, I answer questions regarding tools and techniques and ensure safety at all times. I communicate with parents, community members, and staff as well as handle paperwork. The role of on-site instructor is given to experienced instructors, where I ensure lessons run safely and smoothly and supervise the lessons of my coworkers.
