Amy was the pharma key account coordinator whilst I worked at Alcon between 2012 and 2014. I was the pharma business unit BPA and we regularly worked together. Amy is a very proactive, honest and I have to say fun character who brought a fundamental gear change in how we worked with customers. By closely monitoring Alcon stock levels and matching these with customer orders Amy really improved Alcon’s surety of supply to customers. The pharma team knew that Amy would go that extra mile to push through an order. I think what helped Amy to deliver so well in her role was her good communication skills, for example: monitoring parallel traded products and talking to customers about these; handling stock builds and letting customers know exactly what the procedure would be; and being an active participant in monthly customer reviews. On top of her high standard of work what really impressed me was that Amy was really keen to learn, be that new Excel skills, business processes, customer strategies or improved product knowledge. Furthermore Amy actively sought feedback, which let’s be honest very few people actually do.
