  I plan, coordinate and direct a comprehensive sports program for all age groups on a year-round basis for the City of Morro Bay. I assist the Supervisor with administrative details that include but are not limited to the following: Athletic budgeting, equipment purchases, department policies and regulations, and other general duties as required. I coordinate the use of athletic fields and gyms at various sites throughout Morro Bay and Los Osos in conjunction with school officials and date availability. I recruit, hire, train and maintain an adequate staff of officials and coaches in the current rules and regulations of various sports. I have established, developed and maintained sound public relations between coaches, participants and the recreation department. I maintain a comprehensive and detailed up-to-date inventory of all equipment owned and/or used by the department for the athletic programs. I am responsible for creating schedules and putting teams together, and I am very proud of creating and organizing our first youth soccer All Star team. Show less
