Oct 2010 - Dec 2015
As a School Liaison Advisor as Blackburn College, I worked with local high schools to engage with 11-16 year olds to engage them in careers based activities to encourage them to identify potential options for their futures and prepare them for their transition from high school to college. This involved delivering interactive workshops in the classroom, assemblies, attending careers events and parents evenings.I also coordinated and delivered various bespoke programmes, which were created through liaising with high schools and addressing theirs and the individual needs of their pupils. These included a STEM ambassadors programme for gifted and talented pupils wishing to persue a STEM related career and coaching and mentoring programmes to address issues of disengagement from identified pupils within a school.I was also heaviliy involved in the planning and delivery of events held both at college and at external organisations and worked collaboratovely with a wide range of different employers and services to ensure that young people in the local area were provided with accurate information, advice and guidance during their high school years.
