  GenerationNation develops a new generation of civic leaders. Through GenerationNation, students learn first-hand how their communities and governments work, explore and discuss civic issues, know how to find and use good sources of news and civic information, and build social capital, knowledge, and experience for active civic leadership, now and into the future. - Initiate and lead new strategy for organization, expanding vision, mission, impact, and rebranding from annual event to year-round program of work focused on K-12 civic literacy and leadership education - Create and implement innovative programs and partnerships including Charlotte-Mecklenburg Youth Council, Youth Lead Charlotte-Mecklenburg, Student Advisor to Board of Education, Kids Lead, and NC Civics Coalition - Create and expand civic leadership education programs and strategies for multiple audiences - Strategic resource and partnership development, networking and collaboration with nonprofit, education, youth, civic, and public leaders and stakeholders in the region, state and country - Collaborate with educators to create civic literacy curriculum and civic learning opportunities - Lead the core business including Board of Directors and volunteer management; financial management to support business operations; and effective communications and community relations through marketing, advertising, media and public relations, social media, government relations, and external communications - Lead nationally-recognized K-12 civic education organization. Recipient of American Civic Innovation Award. Partner in Teaching for Democracy Alliance, CivXNow, and Educating for American Democracy.
