Alicia Collins
I had the pleasure of working with Amy for 15 years on our production team for a national publication. Amy was a key player on our team and a valuable asset. No matter what questions or requests I had she did her best to assist me and offer her knowledge and expertise. Her role utilized her keen sense of details and thoroughness to ensure a final product we were reassured was correct before going to print. Her proofing abilities are top-notch. Additionally, she is a team-player and is open to suggestions, as well as adding insight into how we can better accomplish projects. I was fortunate to have her as part of my team and she is an all around genuine person. She has a positive attitude that any employer would be fortunate to have as part of their staff. I also appreciated Amy's dedication to non-profit and charity work. She organized many efforts over the years spreading that passion and creating opportunities for volunteer work and giving back to others.

I worked with Amy for over a decade at a magazine in which one of her roles was as a proofreader, and she knocked me out in the ways she went above and beyond her on-paper job role. She is an impeccable copy editor/proof reader who had eyes for things that sometimes even I didn't (and i was in editorial); she is so detail-oriented that her work was nearly error-free when it came to her fact-based reviews of our magazine; and, what I think is her best quality in this role, she asks really intelligent, important questions. I'd often get a question written on a story or an ad that was not something that occurred to me, and it brought a good point to the surface: "Will the reader wonder this too?" "How can I communicate this better?" I always appreciated her notes, as they often helped me do my job better. On a personal note, Amy is the go-to "Yep, I have that." Eye drops? Aspirin? A stamp? A bandaid? Check, check, check--a good colleague and team player is one who selflessly shares with the rest of the crew. It was a pleasure working with Amy, and now that I'm without her, I often think, 'Man. I wish i had an Amy on this right now.' But there will never be another!
