Bio
Paul Velazquez
Amy is a talented instructional designer and an effective leader who consistently delivers high quality, engaging, and rigorous K-5 ELA and SLA content. Her ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, support independent contractors and vendors, along with guiding internal team members makes her a valuable asset to any organization. Throughout my time working with Amy, I relied on her deep understanding of K-5 curriculum and her many years of instructional design experience to make key content development decisions. Amy's commitment and drive to empower students and teachers resonated throughout our team and her thoughtful questioning made us all sharper thinkers. I am grateful that I had the opportunity to work with her. Amy is a tremendous asset to any content development team and I highly recommend her.

Amy cares deeply about the content her team makes and will work extremely hard to get any content to the highest quality possible. From 2021 to 2022, I was the Project Manager on several Language Arts projects for both English and Spanish where Amy was either the Content Lead, functioned as the subject-matter expert, or had both roles. In these projects, Amy directed multiple other team members in the creation of content for grades K-5 and worked cross-functionally with developers, other education experts, copyedit teams, graphics teams, and multimedia teams in-person and in work-from-home situations. Amy is always willing to go above and beyond what is needed for any situation. She worked directly with those less experienced or new to the company in multiple situations – and is an excellent teacher, continuously sharing knowledge with those around her. Amy never hesitates to help the team wherever she can. If a team member needed assistance or guidance for any reason (or if I had a random question), Amy was there without hesitation. There were two times back-to-back where the team ended up needing to pivot the requirements quickly. Amy not only took it upon herself to work in those changes, but she also communicated to all affected team members without causing any panic. She has a great ability to discuss upheaval or issues by focusing on the solution first. She is always up-front, honest, and practical about level of effort, estimated times, communication, and any other questions I asked from a ‘project manager point of view.’ There are numerous instances where Amy provided information or expertise that let us identify risks or issues before they arose.
