Amulya is a highly accomplished teacher and deeply compassionate person. I would highly recommend her for any position she sought. She puts her heart and soul into everything I have seen her do.

I worked with Amulya for over 8 years. She has been a role model and a mentor for me. I first met her before I became a teacher, when I was a college student. I visited one of her lessons during my teaching practice months and I can still remember her lesson very clearly. She was teaching a poem by Gillian Clarke, ‘Lament’. I could notice clearly her passion she put into her lesson as students were engaged and actively thinking and participating. At this time, I thought to myself, I want to be like her! After getting my first teaching job in that same school, I joined her department and at some point we also taught the same year group together. By this time, I realised that what I knew about her during my teaching practice months was just the tip of the iceberg. Amulya held important positions at school being the English Coordinator and the School Cambridge Coordinator. She was also very competent in channeling students’ creativity through extra curricular. The school TED Talk activity that she organised was a huge success as her students were invited to give their talks in the TED conference in New York. Her skills in nurturing young future leaders are also reflected in her students’ Cambridge Examination results. Her students always managed to get top achievements: Top in Indonesia and even Top in the World. I learned a lot from Amulya over the past 8 years we worked together. I learned that education is about empowering students and making them own their learning. Whenever I visit her classroom, I am always impressed with the display work that her students have produced on the wall- reflections of her teaching passion, creativity and knowledge. Finally, Amulya is also one of the people who inspired me to be a teacher mentor. I consider myself lucky to have learned a lot from her. I will pass on her wisdom.
