My work was grounded in recent health care policy changes stemming from the Affordable Care Act. I was engaged in a project using Medicare claims data analytics for investigating geographical variation in access and utilization of hospital-based rehabilitation services and its impact on patient-level health outcomes. I evaluated various risk-adjustment models for predicting acute/post-acute rehabilitation outcomes such as 30-day readmission and discharge to the community.
