The focus of training is on ensuring compliance to the Bank's Global policies regarding systems, processes and banking products. I found contemporary banking to be extremely technology oriented with great emphasis on solution delivery to attain maximum efficiency. In all my rotations, to various departments, part of the emphasis is on system enhancement i.e. improving quality by reducing downtime and bottlenecks and to attain hands-on product knowledge. • Rotations: 1. Loan Processing Unit • Worked on the GIA (Group Internal Audit) of two biggest units of the bank i.e. CMO and Trade. • Conducted a detailed process analysis for Remittances, LCY & FCY Collection, PIC, Import LC, Bank Guarantees, and Export Refinance in order to minimize processing time and maximize efficiency. • Reviewed Local Department Operating Instructions (DOIs) and made sure they were aligned with Group Department Operating Instructions. • Ensured all DOIs were being followed by staff while processing transactions and raised a ‘risk item’ wherever there was a breach. • Completed the short assignments of Stock/Inventory Management, End of Day Reconciliation and Training/Awareness session for employees on SCB Group Policies. • Developed sound understating of banking systems i.e. S2B, OPICs, eOPS. • Active Member of SCB’s Employee Focus Group (EFG), where I organized and volunteered in many events like: Golf Club & IoBM Tree Plantation, LRBT Seeing is Believing, GTO Football & Cricket Tournament, 14th August Celebration with kids of IDA RIEU Welfare Association and many more to enhance employee engagement. • Presented a thorough research in front of Group Regional CIOs on “One Bank Structure Analysis” under the Global MT Network 2014, where management trainees from different countries work together on a project.
