      During my post doc my main aim was to investigate the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying pain-related mono-arthritis using functional imaging such as PET (Positron emission tomography) and SPECT (Single photon emission computed tomography). Our lab in France has developed SPECT radiotracer 99mTc NTP 15-5 which may directly bind to proteoglycans in cartilage and they wanted to test this radiotracer in a mouse model of rheumatoid arthritis as they got very good results with osteoarthritis. With the behavior for pain like hot water paw immersion test, PET 18FDG imaging, SPECT 99mTc NTP 15-5, in vitro proteoglycan content determination and lastly toluidine blue staining of mouse paw we were able to say 99mTc-NTP 15-5 radiotracer is effective for in vivo cartilage remodeling in rheumatoid arthritis that could be used to monitor the therapeutic effect of new drugs. In my first postdoc just in one year I could able to publish 1 research article. Show less
