I worked in the customer service department, called “Bytte & Retur”, in the biggest IKEA store in Oslo. My role consisted of providing good service to our customers that want to return their items. This position requires you to be able to find a solution tailored for the customer’s issue. Being responsible and independent is asked of us as this department can be very demanding. I also had the opportunity to work at the information desk and in the children’s playground, also called “Lekerom”. Working in “Lekerommet” has unable me to work well under pressure, as the queues were very long on peak days. A fluency in other languages has helped make children feel more comfortable in the playground, allowing parents to do their shopping. Working at the information has helped me create a proximity with our customers, allowing me to become more confident and hence provide better customer service. Show less

Supintern was a start-up company that had as main mission to act as a liaison between candidates and businesses. We helped candidates to secure a placement in their dream destinations and we also helped businesses find the intern they were looking for. Being a business development assistant, my role consisted of creating partnerships with businesses. One of our objectives was to establish strong partnership in both the United Kingdom (London) and the United States (New-York) as they were very popular destinations. I was constantly in touch with our candidates. Interviews were arranged in order to explain more about our services and understand more of the candidates expectations. As a Kingston ambassador, my role was to welcome students and help them settle into their new lives. Upon the arrival of the international students, our team was giving out welcome bags, trusted to take care of their luggages and taking them around Kingston. This has made me more confident in being held accountable and also improved my communication skills. As a Student ambassador, we were present on open days and made sure the event was running its course. During “Dignity Day”, my colleague and I had to prepare a number of activities for our class that was related to dignity and self-worth. I represented my school’s “International Baccalaureate” scheme at an education fair in Norway. The event lasted the whole day and was a way for us as a team to work together and attract as many students as possible. This whole experience of being a Dignity Ambassador has taught me more about responsibility and helped me being more involved in what my school stood for. Show less
