I am a systems administrator, specializing in IT infrastructure and security. I ensure the staff at our three locations have reliable technology to support our clients and to safeguard their information. I continually research emerging technologies and cyber threats, and explore ways that we can work more effectively and continue to provide exceptional service for our clients.• Build and administer hierarchical networks, virtual infrastructure, and end-user workstations.• Develop and apply security policies for cloud services, hosted infrastructure, perimeter firewalls, LAN/WAN, and endpoints. • Migrate physical servers to virtual infrastructure with network-attached storage to increase performance, efficiency and reliability, reduce backup RPO/RTO and facilitate remote administration.• Segment flat networks using VLANs to allow traffic filtering and device isolation.• Recommend and implement solutions for application elevation and whitelisting, multifactor authentication, single sign-on, cloud access control, and secure email gateway to protect against advanced email threats.• Implement secure messaging solutions for safe, reliable transmission of confidential data• Deploy secure remote support solution for more effective support of users in remote sites• Configure site-to-site IPSec VPN tunnels for branch offices and remotely hosted infrastructure• Identify technology needs and evaluate, recommend and implement hosted and on-premise solutions. Hand soldered and crimped custom wire harness and cable assemblies for prototype, commercial, and consumer applications. One project included 50 panels of 24 connectors, each with 25 pins which I soldered and heat-shrunk one by one. That's 30,000 solder joints. It took a loooooong time. I also diagnosed and repaired communications cables and sold PC, networking, audio/video, and electronics components, but the soldering skills come in handy to this day. Also, if you read this far down, thanks! Show less
