As a Research Assistant in the Strategic Studies Department of ORF, I was able to further apply all the knowledge I had gained during my internship to add to the surrounding discourse on Indian politics and defence affairs. The post also gave me the opportunity to study under some of the finest and most active minds in the Indian defence sector, while at the same time sharpening my transcription and rapporteur skills through my contributions in events and formal discussions. Working at CLAWS gave me the opportunity to learn the main functions of a think-tank and the contributions every employee makes to the various topics an organization such as this generates discussion on. During my internship, I had the privilege of working under the former Vice Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Philip Campose, on his first publication titled "A National Security Strategy for India: The Way Forward". My responsibilities also included assisting in the Media Capsule organized for serving officers of the Army, working to generate transcripts of lectures and seminar reports when necessary. Show less
