  In May 2019 I attended a work experience rotation at the Royal Derby Hospital laboratories. We visited the different laboratories and met experts in each. We learned about the processing of samples, how they are studied and how this is used in diagnosis. A lasting, extraordinary memory from this experience is seeing a seminoma in a fallopian tube down a microscope in the histology laboratory.
